Life can be hard for a great number of reasons. Being unaccepted due to your sexuality or race adds yet another layer of stress and complexity that many people must deal with simply because of the way they were born. ‘Trying’ is about a true friend who is strong enough to offer support regardless of the stigma, and has decided that “being yourself ain’t committing no crimes” and that “it’s you and me together, and that’s the way it’s gonna stay.”
